Different Java Builds

There's a lot of these since OpenJDK is Open Source, meaning near everyone has their version. They all work damn near the same, it's more like which company you like more. I'm only going to list my 4 first options, but there truly is a lot of these.

Oracle JDK

Literally the first search result for "Java Download"

Pros

It's super easy to look up the first search result
Works as Java
Oracle actually owns Java

Cons

An account is required to download JDK 8, causing us to stop using it entirely
Nothing special about it
JDK 17 doesn't currently require an account, but no JRE version is available

Adoptium Eclipse Temurin

Actually OpenJDK, built and supported by the community

Pros

No Account Needed (you can't even make one)
.msi downloads (I prefer .msi over .exe)
Longer Support Timeline (Oracle supports JDK 17 until 2024 before requiring an account, and possibly a fee. Adoptium supports until at least 2027, and continuing to update as long as JDK 17 is maintained)

Cons

Download Page can be confusing
No plain .exe files (some people like them more)
Not the first search result

Microsoft OpenJDK

IDK why, but if you want Microsoft Java for some reason, it exists.

Pros

Microsoft is a very trusted source for programming related things
.msi downloads

Cons

No JDK 8 version (the link literally just takes you to Adoptium, Microsoft is actually a part of the Adoptium group)

Pros

Website openly has multiple different versions
.msi downloads
No account needed for downloads

Cons

Website is garbage
No Support Timeline openly available
Website is truly garbage
